Ambulance drivers and attendants (except emergency medical technicians) drive ambulances or assist ambulance drivers in transporting sick, injured, or convalescent persons. Besides, they assist in lifting patients.
The ambulance driver's job entails cleaning vehicles or vehicle components. They also drive passenger vehicles and notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards. Besides, they provide first aid or rescue assistance in emergencies. Moreover, they stock medical or patient care supplies.
If you are interested to know how to become an ambulance driver, then the first requirement is to complete a high school diploma or recognise a certificate course in automobile subjects. Other certifications like emergency vehicle operator course, basic life support and cardiopulmonary receive situation certification are also required in some states. One or two years of EMT or driving experience is sufficient to start your career as an ambulance driver. Students must maintain a high level of fitness and have a clear license.

- Drive ambulances or assist ambulance drivers in transporting sick, injured, or convalescent persons.
- Remove and replace soiled linens or equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Place patients on stretchers and load stretchers into ambulances, usually with assistance from other attendants.
- Accompany and assist emergency medical technicians on calls.
- Earn and maintain appropriate certifications.
- Replace supplies and disposable items on ambulances.
- Report facts concerning accidents or emergencies to hospital personnel or law enforcement officials.
- Administer first aid, such as bandaging, splinting, or administering oxygen.
- Restrain or shackle violent patients.
- Perform minor maintenance on emergency medical services vehicles, such as ambulances.
