Anthropology and archaeology teachers (postsecondary) teach courses in anthropology or archaeology. This includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
As an anthropology professor, one has to perform tasks including conducting research in a particular field of knowledge and presenting findings, evaluating and grading students’ classwork, assignments and papers, preparing course materials, such as homework assignments and worksheets, compiling, administering and grading examinations, maintaining regularly scheduled officers to advise and assist students, writing letters of recommendation for students, performing administrative obligations such as serving as the head of the department and initiating, facilitating and regulating classroom discussions.

To qualify for the archaeology careers as an archaeological and anthropology professor, one must have a doctoral degree.
