Chiropractors assess, treat, and care for patients by manipulating the spine and musculoskeletal system. They may provide spinal adjustment or address sacral or pelvic misalignment.

The most common skills that chiropractors use most regularly are critical thinking, dexterity (the ability to feel when something is not aligned), reading comprehension, and communication.
To become a chiropractor, one would have to complete a bachelor’s degree in a science or medicine-related field. Upon graduation, they would have to complete a four-year course at a chiropractor school. After completing this, they would have to take and pass the National Board of Chiropractors examiners’ test. The training includes a one-year clinical program focusing on patient care based on which chiropractor salary in India is granted.
To be successful as a chiropractor career, one should communicate effectively and have well-established core values while dealing with patients. A good chiropractor understands every latest technology available for therapies. They should be well trained and experienced in treating musculoskeletal or spinal pain patients.

Tasks
- Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine or other articulations of the body to correct the musculoskeletal system.
- Evaluate the functioning of the neuromuscularskeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis.
- Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories, questioning, observing, and examining patients and interpreting x-rays.
- Maintain accurate case histories of patients.
- Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment.
- Obtain and record patients' medical histories.
- Analyze x-rays to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.
- Counsel patients about nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, or other matters.
- Consult with or refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary.
- Suggest and apply the use of supports such as straps, tapes, bandages, or braces if necessary.
