Slicing machines and cutting operators operate cutting equipment, measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, study blueprints or other instructions to determine equipment set up requirements, weigh finished products and conduct test runs of product equipment.
A cutting operator needs no specific educational requirements. One can enter the occupation with a high school diploma. Additionally, strong mathematical skills and attention to detail ability is required to work in a team and independently. Experience in warehouse work is advantageous.
Slicing machine operators usually work in manufacturing settings in small-scale and large-scale industries and factories. The salary of a cutting operator is commensurate to the city, experience, skills, employer and the employer.
Slicing machines and cutting operators require arm-hand steadiness, good near vision, the flexibility to quickly move two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects, finger dexterity, repetitive squatting; bending; lifting heavy weights and the ability to work for long hours in sitting and standing positions. An individual must be able to work under different environmental setups in the open area.
