Dancers
Dancers perform dances. They perform on stage, for broadcasting, or video recording.
A dancer's job description involves repairing textiles or apparel, sewing clothing or other articles, practising athletic or artistic skills, performing dances and entertaining the public with comedic or dramatic performances.
To become a dancer, no specific educational qualification is necessary. One should have an inborn talent for dancing; training and guidance can only hone these talents. Dancers should have started training in dance as early as age six or less.
A career as a dancer in India should possess certain essential abilities of gross body coordination; they should be flexible, possess dynamic strength and stamina and also have the ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support parts of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatiguing.
Dancers can take career roles as choreographers, dance teachers and performers. Lots of dancers are employed by dance groups, dance academies, and media and teaching institutions engaged in imparting dance education. Besides, dancers can always take up self-employment in the form of holding private classes or starting a dance training institution. Many schools appoint dance teachers full-time to manage cultural activities and train children in dance groups or individuals for inter-school competitions.
A dancer's salary depends on experience, the number of performances, skill and location.
To succeed as dancers, The main attributes and skills needed to succeed as dancers are grace, sense of rhythm, stage presence, presentation, musical sense and versatility, expressive facial and body language, and physical stamina.

- Train, exercise, and attend dance classes to maintain high levels of technical proficiency, physical ability, and physical fitness.
- Study and practice dance moves required in roles.
- Harmonize body movements to rhythm of musical accompaniment.
- Perform classical, modern, or acrobatic dances in productions, expressing stories, rhythm, and sound with their bodies.
- Collaborate with choreographers to refine or modify dance steps.
- Coordinate dancing with that of partners or dance ensembles.
- Attend costume fittings, photography sessions, and makeup calls associated with dance performances.
- Audition for dance roles or for membership in dance companies.
- Develop self-understanding of physical capabilities and limitations, and choose dance styles accordingly.
- Monitor the field of dance to remain aware of current trends and innovations.
