Driver/Sales Workers
Drive trucks or other vehicles over established routes or within an established territory and sell or deliver goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up or deliver items such as commercial laundry.
The retail sales workers sell the products from clothing to cars to the customer. They follow a regular route and call the customer to try samples of new products. These workers combine sale activities with deliveries, and collection of the empties.
Their daily tasks include driving trucks and delivering items such as food, medical supplies, and newspapers, records sales and delivery options, listen and solve the queries of the customers, inform about the launch of new products and services.
The education qualifications required for retail sales workers are high school diploma, with a previous year work experience. Besides that, the candidate must be able to access various software applications such as IBM Domino, Soft Essentials Vending, Map creation software, Project Management Software etc.
To become a successful retail sales worker, the applicant must have the knowledge of food products, techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting food products, customer, and personal service, public safety, and security, food production with good command in English. The skills and abilities required are oral comprehension, active listening, speaking problem solving, speech clarity, critical thinking, etc.

- Collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer receipts.
- Listen to and resolve customers' complaints regarding products or services.
- Inform regular customers of new products or services and price changes.
- Write customer orders and sales contracts according to company guidelines.
- Drive trucks to deliver such items as food, medical supplies, or newspapers.
- Collect coins from vending machines, refill machines, and remove aged merchandise.
- Call on prospective customers to explain company services or to solicit new business.
- Record sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
- Review lists of dealers, customers, or station drops and load trucks.
- Arrange merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
