Exercise Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors
Fitness instructors instruct or coach groups or individuals in exercise activities for the primary purpose of personal fitness. They demonstrate techniques and form, observe participants, and explain to them corrective measures necessary to improve their skills and develop & implement individualized approaches to exercise.
Fitness instructors observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement and then evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs. Also, they can assist you in planning routines, choosing appropriate music, and choosing different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations while offering alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
After completing fitness instructor certification, you can teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion to individuals. To be the best exercise trainers, you need to have knowledge of training & education, customer service and psychology in order to understand human behavior & performance.
To enroll in fitness instructor certification, you need to be comfortable working with people directly. For a successful career as a fitness instructor, develop certain abilities like strong stamina, speech clarity, extent flexibility and gross body coordination. One or more years of training are involved before joining any gym or opening up your own fitness center.

Tasks
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
- Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
- Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
- Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.
- Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.
- Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines.
- Teach and demonstrate use of gymnastic and training equipment, such as trampolines and weights.
- Maintain fitness equipment.
- Conduct therapeutic, recreational, or athletic activities.
- Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.
