Landscape workers maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. They perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units.

The gathering and removing litter, using hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes, operating vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snowblowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws and watering lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans are all landscaping work.
Landscape workers prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. They require knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations along with an understanding of customer & personal service. Landscaping and groundskeeping workers require controlling operations of equipment or systems skills.
To be successful as landscape workers you need a high-school diploma or GED certificate. The landscaping and groundskeeping workers salary for this job profile is commensurate with the position and the experience. A good number of job openings are foreseen for this job profile.
