Mathematical Science Teachers, Postsecondary
Mathematical science teachers (postsecondary) teach courses pertaining to mathematical concepts, statistics, and actuarial science and to the application of original and standardized mathematical techniques in solving specific problems and situations. This includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
Maths teachers teach students the language of maths, and how to apply the principles of mathematics to solve problems, including equations, word problems, statistics, and binomials. They create instructive resources for use in the classroom. They must plan, prepare and deliver informative activities by engaging students through the best learning aids. Their responsibility also includes enlightening students on the mathematics curriculum, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, logic, and pre-calculus.
In today’s time, most of the high-demand professional fields are the most math-intensive and thus, mathematics teacher salary is in five-six figures. The mathematics taught from the elementary level school to high secondary school develops the student's logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, analytical and critical thinking including problem-solving.
Mathematics taught from the basics in elementary years up to the advanced level during secondary years plays a key role in the development of problem-solving, logical reasoning, and flexible thinking skills. Mathematical science jobs help impart to students not only the most fundamental of skills but also some of the most valuable.

- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Select and obtain materials and supplies, such as textbooks.
- Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.
