A millwright technician performs daily tasks like inserting shims, adjusting the tension on nuts and bolts, positioning parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. Besides, millwright skills include levelling bedplate and establishing centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit, aligning machines or equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, or plumb bobs, assembling and installing equipment, using hand tools and power tools and signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to the bedplate and align unit to the centerline.
To apply for millwright technician, you need knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance and knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, and knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
