Mixing and Blending Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders
Mixing machine operators set up, operate, or tend machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, tobacco, liquids, color pigments, or explosive ingredients.
Mixing machine operators observes production processes and monitors the working of the machines. Their daily tasks include tending to machines made for mixing materials like chemicals, liquids, explosives, and other similar ingredients in a blender machine operator. In addition, they make sure that the working of the equipment is safe and efficient.
To become a successful mixing machine operator, one must have knowledge of raw materials, quality control, chemical composition, production techniques, manufacturing, and distribution of goods, knowledge of machines and tools, disposal methods etc. Besides that, one must have an excellent technical understanding of various platforms such as e-mail software, data entry software etc.
The educational qualifications required for this career are a high school diploma or equivalent with work experience in the respective field. Other than that, the abilities required are arm-hand steadiness, problem sensitivity, handling, moving objects, information ordering etc. Some of the career options are - Blending Technician, Machine Operator, Stock Operation Operator, Coater Operator etc.

Tasks
- Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Test samples of materials or products to ensure compliance with specifications, using test equipment.
- Operate or tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of materials, such as spices, dough batter, tobacco, fruit juices, chemicals, livestock feed, food products, color pigments, or explosive ingredients.
- Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
- Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained and open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.
- Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
- Add or mix chemicals or ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
- Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Record operational or production data on specified forms.
