Even with nil to minimum formal school education, one can train to become a motorcycle mechanic with a vocational course at a motorcycle mechanic school. They learn on the job - trainees are assigned to more experienced mechanics as assistants to their supervisors. In the beginning, they perform simple tasks like passing on tools or changing oil. With experience, they take up more complex tasks. With motor mechanic jobs coming to customers' doorsteps, maintenance can be done at the location, right in their driveway or garage. It is convenient, low-stress and time-saving method than a standard service shop. Most motorcycle manufacturers train their mechanics to work on engines fitted to their motorcycles. Knowledge of the English language, computers, machines, tools, and mathematical applications is recommended. It can take 2 to 3 years to become a fully trained motorcycle mechanic. Motorcycle mechanics are employed in workshops or manufacturers authorised service points or can start their own business or work in industries with six to seven-figure mechanic motor vehicle salary.
