To become an obstetrician or gynaecologist, one must complete a degree in medicine and have obtained an MBBS or equivalent qualification. One can then complete a two-year foundation programme. After completing your first year of foundation training, candidates become eligible for registration as a doctor.
A gynecologist job specializes in female reproductive health. They normally diagnose and treat issues related to the female reproductive tract, which includes the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and breasts.
Obstetricians and gynae doctors mostly work in clinics, hospitals, birthing facilities and other medical care facilities. Because births and emergencies can occur at all hours, a gynaecologist often works long, irregular hours.
