Become a real estate agent entails certain responsibilities like conducting viewings for clients, advising through the negotiation process, being knowledgeable in the real estate industry and market prices, preparing documents, advertising places under property listings, comparing various properties, answering clients’ queries, keeping contacts of various home services and developing networks for business purposes.
How to become a real estate sales agent? One becomes a real estate agent after obtaining the relevant real estate license. To get there, a high school diploma is required, although one can benefit from a bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, business administration, promotions or advertising sales.
Real estate sales agents' salaries may depend on property leasing companies, builders and contractors or independently. It usually takes some experience to start working independently, and a successful track record. One should work towards maintaining a healthy client base and being thorough with the ins and outs of the real estate market.
To be successful as a real estate agent, one should have communication, negotiation, persuasiveness, judgement and social perceptiveness skills.

Tasks
- Present purchase offers to sellers for consideration.
- Confer with escrow companies, lenders, home inspectors, and pest control operators to ensure that terms and conditions of purchase agreements are met before closing dates.
- Interview clients to determine what kinds of properties they are seeking.
- Prepare documents such as representation contracts, purchase agreements, closing statements, deeds, and leases.
- Coordinate property closings, overseeing signing of documents and disbursement of funds.
- Act as an intermediary in negotiations between buyers and sellers, generally representing one or the other.
- Promote sales of properties through advertisements, open houses, and participation in multiple listing services.
- Compare a property with similar properties that have recently sold to determine its competitive market price.
- Coordinate appointments to show homes to prospective buyers.
- Generate lists of properties that are compatible with buyers' needs and financial resources.
