Set up, operate, or tend continuous flow or vat-type equipment; filter presses; shaker screens; centrifuges; condenser tubes; precipitating, fermenting, or evaporating tanks; scrubbing towers; or batch stills.
Still Machine Operator job is to inspect machines and equipment during operation. They adjust the machine controls to regulate conditions such as temperature, indicators, pressure, and processing conditions. The filter job description responsibilities include operating heavy machinery, ensuring the quality of the tools, coordinating with the supervisors and educating their co-workers on the machine-related performance as well as core maintenance activities.
The separators must have good technical skills and know-how to access software like electronic mail, spreadsheet software, office suite, ERP Software, etc. Other than that, they must have knowledge about the raw materials, machines, tools, their repair, and maintenance with a good command of English. To get a good Still Machine Operator job, one must be proficient in critical thinking, information ordering, clear vision, operation monitoring etc.
To become a successful Still Machine Operator, one has to complete High School Diploma or equivalent, followed by some previous work experience or apprentice program. Depending on their skills and experience, the machine setter salary is decided. After completing the education, one can go for career profiles like - Blender, Plant Operator, Machine Tender, Cellar Worker, Digester Cook etc.

Tasks
- Set up or adjust machine controls to regulate conditions such as material flow, temperature, or pressure.
- Monitor material flow or instruments, such as temperature or pressure gauges, indicators, or meters, to ensure optimal processing conditions.
- Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory analysis.
- Test samples to determine viscosity, acidity, specific gravity, or degree of concentration, using test equipment such as viscometers, pH meters, or hydrometers.
- Measure or weigh materials to be refined, mixed, transferred, stored, or otherwise processed.
- Clean or sterilize tanks, screens, inflow pipes, production areas, or equipment, using hoses, brushes, scrapers, or chemical solutions.
- Inspect machines or equipment for hazards, operating efficiency, malfunctions, wear, or leaks.
- Dump, pour, or load specified amounts of refined or unrefined materials into equipment or containers for further processing or storage.
- Connect pipes between vats and processing equipment.
- Communicate processing instructions to other workers.
