Stockers and Order Fillers
Stockers receive, store, and issue merchandise, materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard to fill shelves, racks, tables, or customers' orders. Stocker jobs also include operating power equipment to fill orders and marking prices on merchandise and setting up sales displays.
Completing order receipts, obtaining merchandise from bins or shelves, reading orders to ascertain catalogue numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise, packing and unpacking items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards are the major duties associated with stocker jobs. They store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Apart from knowledge of goods and services, the ideal candidate for order fillers online must be well-versed with principles and processes for providing customer and personal services such as customer need assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating of customer satisfaction.
To be successful in the stockers’ jobs, you ought to have good communication skills as the job requires establishing & maintaining interpersonal relationships. Additionally, prior experience is needed to earn a good stocker salary. This job profile can land in top industries like retail trade, transportation, and warehousing.

Tasks
- Complete order receipts.
- Obtain merchandise from bins or shelves.
- Read orders to ascertain catalog numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or on computer.
- Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
- Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.
